Dorothy, black and white cat for adoption at ASAP
Meet Dorothy at ASAP in Santa Barbara! Photo by Sharon Metsch.

It's a far too familiar scenario: Beautiful, sweet kitty has a loving home; guardian loses said home because of the economy; kitty gets relinquished to an animal shelter.

That's just what happened to Dorothy, a 4-year-old, black and white cat with oh-so-soft fur.

Now Dorothy is hoping for a new person or family to love, where she can be the only cat in the household. Dorothy is a bit shy, but also sweet, playful, entertaining and--like many felines--Miss Independent!

Shelter volunteers believe Dorothy will blossom and become a lap cat once she feels secure in a permanent, loving home.

For more info: To learn how you can adopt Dorothy, stop by the Animal Shelter Assistance Program (ASAP) at 5473 Overpass Road, off Patterson Avenue, in Goleta, call (805) 683-3368, or visit www.asapcats.org.
