Feral pubic hair has become a big no-no in recent years. The buxom bushes featured in 70s porn films have been replaced by miniscule slivers of carefully waxed hair—or none at all. Now, there isn’t a place on earth where at least some percentage of the native female population hasn’t trimmed or removed their hair-down-there. And fuzz-busting has become big business, with women paying an average of $60 to have their nether regions professionally waxed and trimmed into perfection. Here’s a sampling of some of the recent pubic style trends:
The Brazilian: One of the most popular styles, all hair is removed except for a very thin strip. Another version, known as the landing strip, is slightly wider. If you want to be in porn, this style is a prerequisite.
The Hollywood: Featured in numerous celebrity sex tapes, this style calls for a gallon of wax and an enthusiasm for pain. All hair is removed, giving the vulva a prepubescent look.
The Cardshark: Hair is shorn to leave a playing card design (hearts, clubs, diamonds, spades). It’s like Lucky Charms for your vulva!
The Lightning Bolt: Long live ACDC!
The MC Hammer: A style that peaked in the early 90s and consisted of two or more “chevrons” of hair resembling swaths through Hammer’s left eyebrow. But much like the singer, it’s now very hard to find.
The Charlie Chaplin/Adolf: A horizontal strip resembling a Chaplin or Hitler moustache. If you go for this style be warned: Not all guys want their girlfriend’s vulva to resemble a homicidal dictator.
The Princess Cut: The hair is shaved to mimic the outline of a vertical American football. Whip it out at your next Super Bowl party and relish the cheers of approval.
