The Castro was packed Halloween night and so was Lookout. Transformed into a Fun House, Lookout was packed from the front balcony overlooking Market and 16th Streets to the Thick and Thin Pizza dining room. People in their costumes dancing, talking, just having a great time was the vibe at Gus Presents Social Club Saturday, October 31.
The Thick and Thin Pizza room was transformed into a haunted house complete with all things that go bump in the night. Before entering the haunted house, people made sure to have a free Tarot reading by Madam MuthaChucka. The experienced Tarot reader left many people dropping their jaws at the accuracy of her readings. As she told me, “I don’t pick the cards, you do; I just interrupt them.”
The flirty Lady Lumpia was the ringmaster hostess of this amazing party. She was all over Lookout. When I first found her, she was propped at the entrance flirting with all those who entered Lookout. Whether you were Ice Man from “Top Gun,” Wilma Flintstone, Dracula, A Ninja, a Leather Daddy, or yourself, Lady Lumpia found someway to connect with you.
DJ's Lee Decker and Byron Bonsall keep playing dance, hip-hop, and electro hits all night so the dance floor and the bar were always full. The Social Club gogo’s, not like these boys need costumes, were hot as always.
Another special addition to Social Club Saturday night was the CD Release party for Rufus Wainwright who has been called, "The Greatest Songwriter on the Planet" by the one and only, Sir Elton John. Wainwright’s album “Milwaukee At Last” is in stores now.
