AFI Dallas and Dallas Film Society part ways.

The American Film Institute and the Dallas Film Society have parted ways after a three-year partnership. The Dallas Film Society announced it would not renew its licensing agreement with AFI. The two organizations have worked in partnership since 2006. The festival plans to continue on as the Dallas International Film Festival.

This year's event drew about 40,000 and included screenings of "The Brothers Bloom," "The Hurt Locker" and "The Cove."
