Mary Jo Eustace, most famously known as Dean McDermott’s ex-wife whom he left for current wife, Tori Spelling, is publishing a book about her misfortune. Eustace’s book, Divorce Sucks: What to do when irreconcilable differences, lawyer fees, and your ex's Hollywood wife make you miserable, is available for preorder on Amazon.com and will hit the bookshelves on October 19, 2009.
Eustace has been a TV personality for over 15 years, mostly in her native Canada, ey? It’s been four years since her divorce with actor Dean McDermott and two years since Mary Jo started writing about the affair. Back in 2007, she set her pen to paper and wrote an essay for The Other Woman, an anthology of essays about betrayal written by 21 women, where she wrote about what happens “when the other woman is Tori Spelling”. Let’s be honest; it’s bad enough when your husband leaves you for the Hooters’ girl “paying her way through college”, but a celebrity heiress of one of the most renowned TV moguls? Ouch! You’re going to need more than a few Appletinis to bounce back from that.
Post essay and possible Appletini fest, Mary Jo apparently still needed a much bigger catharsis. Despite Eustace’s previous statements that she was sick of hearing about how she was dumped for Tori Spelling, she continues to remind the public of exactly that. According to the description on Amazon.com, Eustace’s book will be part tell-all and part self-help, advising readers on how to cope with divorce. “Sometimes horrifying, sometimes gratifying, and never merciful, this book will give readers an inside look at one of today’s most public divorces while reminding them—hey, it could always be worse.”
One of Eustace’s tell-all moments in her book reveals that she had been approached to appear on Tori and Dean’s reality show by a producer who encouraged her to confront Spelling for 2-3 hours! Well that’s just exhausting!
While Eustace did meet with execs to discuss her possible “role” on the show, she supposedly declined, instead seizing the opportunity to keep her and Dean’s son, Jack, off the show. "I said, 'If I ever again see my son with a black X across his face on the show without my permission, we'll be having a whole different type of conversation,'" she writes. "I have managed to keep my son off the reality show and cast him in his very own and wonderfully private life. I mean, seriously — remember the 'Diff'rent Strokes' kids? Enough said."
So does Mary Jo Eustace actually have something to say or is she just joining the ranks of Candy Spelling and Michael Olifiers in the quest to cash in on the Tori & Dean Franchise?
