In its more than 60-year history, the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am has provided its share of professional and celebrity golfing lore — Arnold Palmer to Jack Nicklaus, Bing Crosby to Jack Lemmon. No one has brought more humor to the tournament than Bill Murray.
After a one-year absence, Murray will return to the event and will be joined by long-time celebrity entrants Huey Lewis, George Lopez and Ray Romano. Actor Greg Kinnear will make his tournament debut.
The tournamet will be held at Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill Golf Course and Poppy Hills golf course, Feb. 9-15.
Murray, who made his Pro-Am debut in 1992, will return to the tournament after missing the 2008 event because of career schedule conflict.
Murray, who for many years played in the AT&tT with Scott Simpson, is expected to be paired with professional Tim Herron. Murray and Herron played together during part of the Pro-Am portion of the 2006 FBR Open. Simpson now competes on the Champions Tour.
Kinnear, who played last July in the American Centurty Celebrity Golf Championship in Lake Tahoe, has had starring roles in "As Good As It Gets" "Little Miss Sunshine" and "Stuck on You." He will play to a 7.7 index.
Other celebrities scheduled to compete, include: musician Clay Walker, motorcycle racer Kenny Roberts, soccer player Brandi Chastain and actors Andy Garcia and Chris O'Donnell.
Former U.S Open winner Jim Furyk, 2003 Masters champ Mike Weir, two-time Pro-Am winner Davis Love III and two-time U.S. Open champ Retief Goosen have also confirmed their participation.
