1-Day Trip To Hulopoe Beach!
Hulopoe Beach! From the harbor in Lahaina Town on the west side of Maui, jump on the ferry and head over to Hulopoe Beach Park on the quiet 'isle of Lanai.
The cost of the ferry is $30 each way, and it''s a relaxing, comfortable, 45-minute ride to Manele Bay on Lanai. Once you arrive, take the easy walk up the hill to the left of the harbor to the roadway about 100 yards away. Take a left at the paved road and you'll see Hulopoe Beach Park and the beautiful bay.
I jumped on the 6:30 am departure and was one of the first to arrive on Hulopoe beach. Early in the morning, there's a good chance you'll see Spinner Dolphins in the bay. Get ready to grab your snorkel mask and fins!
Hulopoe Beach Park has excellent restroom facilities, and there are plenty of picnic tables and shade trees. I went during the week, and like I said, there was hardly anyone there.
Take some snacks and a small cooler or ice chest with you. You can pick-up some supplies at a small store at Manele Bay harbor when you arrive, or you can take them on the ferry with you. You can also walk up to the well-known Four Seasons Resort for a light breakfast or lunch.

Make sure you take: small cooler or ice chest; drinks and water (no bottles please); snorkel, mask and fins; towels, change of clothes; snacks like chips and packaged sandwiches. Take your digital camera. Leave valuables at your place! Note: The last ferry leaves Manele Bay about 6:30pm! Don't miss it or you'll be spending the night at The Four Seasons resort.
