Kahakuloa Is On Maui's West Side Past Kapalua

Heard of Julie's Famous Banana Bread on Maui?  Looking For Kahakuloa?

Well, Julie's is located in Kahakuloa on the west side of Maui. Kahakuloa is a small, quaint Hawaiian community of just a few hundred people -- almost all of them related to each other. It's about 40 minutes or more from the Kapalua resort area and the Ritz Carlton, but is well worth the drive if you don't mind a road that gets very narrow at times.

Directions: Take Highway 30 through the Lahaina Town area and keep heading north past Kaanapali and all the various resort areas at Honokowai, Kahana, Napili and Kapalua.  You will pass the left-hand turn for Kapalau and then go by the entrance to D. T. Fleming Beach Park - bit.ly/bEg4L Keep Going!

You will see a turn-off for Honolua Bay - bit.ly/ZjtRT  - on your left and you might want to stop and spend a few minutes here looking at the bay and the Hawaiian island of Molokai.  Then continue on Hwy. 30 past the Blow Hole area.  As you drive, you'll notice the road gets very narrow!

Be Careful!  Look at the pictures in the Kahakuloa Photo Slideshow below, and you will notice the road gets very narrow.  It is not dangerous, just go slow and take your time.  Also, be very respectful of other drivers you might encounter along the way!  Lastly -- please drive slowly through Kahakuloa and be mindful of the quiet and serene setting of this beautiful Hawaiian community.

The Drive To Kahakuloa Is Exciting And Worth The Journey - You Won't Be Disappointed!
