'Make Me' is the brand new video from the legendary Janet Jackson. The song is the sole new track on her recently released greatest hits collection, Number Ones.
'Make Me' has a slight retro sound to it, it's a feel good song about getting up and dancing, and the fun it could lead to.
As for the video, which was directed by Robert Hales, it's done in a sleek black and white style, the choreography is classic Janet, and she looks fantastic in it. Especially eye catching is when images of Janet appear to reflect on herself.
While Janet has said the song wasn't a tribute to brother Michael, one can't help but think of the video for 'Scream' while watching 'Make Me' because of the futuristic special effects done in a black and white setting. Also the spots where she dons a black fedora can be seen as a tribute, especially when you consider the first time that look is in the video coincides with the line "Ain't nobody else like you, only you got the moves you do."
Whether the video is a tribute or not, it's definitely entertaining.
You can also catch Janet performing tonight (November 22) when she opens the American Music Awards on ABC.
