The Fairmont Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona is trying a new spin on breast cancer awareness. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month in October, the resort's famous Willow Stream Spa is introducing a "Power of Pink" program that allows spagoers the opportunity to become involved in this important cause.
Guests can enjoy a Pink Massage, which involves an hour-long massage in a pink room painted in the official Komen for the Cure colors, a pink blanket and an inspirational plaque where guests can sign a message in honor of friends and family. The Pink Pedicure pampers guests with a pomegranate sugar scrub from the pink Whish body product line.
The spa will donate 5 percent of the cost of either service to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and all Whish products have a 15 percent discount. On Pink Mondays, breast cancer survivors can enjoy 15 percent off any salon and spa services.
The best part is that the Fairmont is not only offering this fundraising effort during October, but for an entire year. Guests and visitors can support breast cancer at the Willow Stream Spa until October 2010.
