Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, is prepping for a major move at one of the world’s busiest airports, London Heathrow. Its new home at Heathrow means switching its three daily flights to Abu Dhabi from Terminal Three to Terminal Four where a brand new lounge and spa for its premium customers is conveniently situated opposite the gates it will most commonly use.
Heathrow is Etihad’s second outstation lounge after the one recently opened in Frankfurt. The carrier is quickly becoming a competent and eager competitor for its rival Emirates Airlines of Dubai. Etihad’s smaller flight network and airport at Abu Dhabi create a smoother transfer experience for passengers who are now a bit overwhelmed by Dubai’s enormous airport.
Etihad’s lounges feature a modern timber-paneled business center that provides workstations with WiFi and privacy for those with laptops. There are individual treatment rooms where therapists from Six Senses Spa offer passengers facials and foot and leg massages. The lounge also boasts dining facilities with an open kitchen.
Etihad Airways also provides a complimentary limousine service for its first and business class passengers flying in and out of London Heathrow.
