Equally important, Mr. Harris works with a purpose, vision and passion. He is currently founder of Designers for Darfu.
Designers for Darfur was founded in 2006 by fashion designer Malcolm Harris (Mal Sirrah, Inc.) and co-chaired by model/heiress Lydia Hearst (Hearst Corporation).
Designers for Darfur focuses on the three components of their mission: education, advocacy and relief efforts by partnering with organizations such as Save Darfur, Doctors Without Borders and The International Rescue Committee. About The Evoluer House:
The Evoluer House is a non-profit organization that provides a wide range of specialized youth and personal development-related services for disadvantaged teen girls.
Since its inception, Evoluer House have successfully partnered with the Philadelphia Department of Recreation to operate it's personal development program at 15 recreational facilities. As a result of the participation levels of teenage girls in the summer program, The Northwest Fund allocated additional funding for the spring and fall 2007 programs. Each of the recreational facilities was filled to capacity with young girls seeking guidance and self-empowerment and accumulates awaiting list of parents who want to enroll their child.
To date, more than 700 young women have contacted Evoluer Personal Development Workshop, desiring to improve who they are and what they will become. Over the past four years, the program responded to these teenage girls by challenging them to think bigger, to dream higher, to be the best they can be and to love the skin they're in. Evoluer Personal Development Workshop was successful in attracting and guiding the teen girls because of the funding support it receives from sponsors, which enables us to service this very special population.
In March 2008, The Evoluer House launched EvoluerGirl BlogSpot and invited teen girls to join. The response was instant. To date, 4000+ girls from around the globe have subscribed to the motivational network where they can find college scholarship information, enrichment workshops alerts, and post and send text messages and more.
