Diets are a drag. Strict guidelines and unappetizing pre-packaged, frozen meals -- sometimes loaded with sodium -- do little to convince us to start one, let alone complete it. And, if you are human, you probably relish your freedom, so anything that regulates what you can't eat or worse makes you feel guilty for what you just ate isn't going to compel you to want to lose any weight. Chances are, if you do enjoy eating, you probably already hate the word "diet."

But the Men's Health Abs Diet isn't really a conventional diet. It is more of an "eating plan." Indeed, Men's Health refers to it as a "six-week plan to flatten your stomach and keep you lean for life." That isn't only a claim, it is a fact. I first went on the Abs Diet in 2005 (see photo). It is now my guide for how I eat, what I buy in the supermarket, and what not to eat. It works.

The Men's Health Abs Diet works simply because it not only provides recipes (using real food), that are easy to prepare, but it will provide you with a grocery shopping foundation. People simply do not now what is good nutrition and what foods are most effective for burning fat. The Abs Diet focuses on proper foods (power foods) that are the best source of protein. And protein builds muscles and muscles help to burn calories. And, if you combine this plan with daily exercise (see "Cardio - your daily therapeutic dose for feeling better") you will be well on your way to successful weight loss.

The Men's Health Abs Diet can be purchased on Amazon or ordered directly, in a myriad of formats, directly from Men's Health. Here is an excerpt from the Men's Health web site:
