"10 Ways to be a Better Parent" was one of the features on the "Today Show" this morning. Of special interest, is the fact that it was suggested parents should get children away from the television, computer, electronic games, etc. and spend some "one-on-one" time with them. This special kind of time should provide children with opportunities to be creative and provide many "teachable moments" for life lessons and social skills.
We know it is often difficult to come up with fun ideas for these special times that don't involve the usual toys or activities. We are the solution for you! Read our Examiner postings each week! We divide these weekly activities into 5 sections: SPARK (learning about the idea or theme for the week's activities);SHINE (individual activities);DAZZLE (partner or cooperative activities); HIGHLIGHT (introduces relevant, related ideas or material for activities);and REFLECTION (gives extension ideas and activities).
