Happy New Year, Aquarius!  

This year, you are the Wizard of Oz. As the year begins, nearly all the planets are lined up on the yellow brick road ready to come into your Emerald City. With Jupiter entering your sign today, you become Oz, the Great and Powerful. With Neptune already nestling there, you are the compassionate showman and illusionist who can make a scarecrow clever with only a rolled up piece of paper tied in ribbon.

You’ve been coming to terms with other people’s values over the last couple of years, and that’s been an interesting project for an individual thinker like you. Now, just when Jupiter comes into your sign, bringing the opportunity to feel strong and powerful and let your ego swell until you’re nothing but a big head, you find that what you really want to do has nothing much to do with ego. You’ll even try to get that girl home in a balloon, although you don’t know how it works.

So come on out from behind the curtain and take your year in the spotlight, doing what you can, in whatever small or large ways, to help humanity along. While your ruling planet, Uranus, participates in the overarching sign of change in the sky, your own blend of empathy and detachment can be very useful in a world that’s simultaneously excited for the future and holding back panic.

Don’t feel you need to be perfect. You are at the epicenter of a whole range of strong influences this year and will feel drawn in many directions. Some days, everything will just feel so goofy. But where you focus, you’ll make great progress. Do be careful not to get too carried away with intoxicants, in whatever literal or figurative way you want to take that, because that is a danger associated with Neptune.

Start right in initiating action on your priority projects in February, March and April. In late August or September, your focus will likely shift toward romantic love. Your financial situation is variable and may fluctuate this year. But all in all, it’s a good one, and it’s your time to shine.
