Happy New Year, Virgo!
Yes, that is light you see up ahead at the end of the tunnel. No, it’s not a train or your life flashing before you. Although to be completely honest, occasionally that light you’re catching glimpses of is actually lightning. Still, keep on keeping on, and don’t lose heart, because you’re almost there.
In September 2007, Saturn entered your sign, and the so-called Greater Malefic won’t leave until the end of October 2009. Saturn in astrology bears a striking resemblance to Prof. Snape in the Harry Potter books: an exacting taskmaster, serious and sinister in tone and method, but always ultimately on the side of the good, not that you’d ever want to hug him for it.
It’s not a good year to start new projects or take on new responsibilities, but it is exactly the right time to work diligently to complete projects you’ve been working on for years. It’s also the right time to figure out which of your methods have helped you make progress and which have not.
The task is made tougher by the fact that your revolutionary urges are also strongly stimulated now. You’ll need to find ways from time to time to break free of responsibilities and go ahead and let yourself get wild and crazy.
This is an approximately 30-year cycle of responsibility – or, to look at it another way, a cycle of karma creation and payback, sowing and reaping – that is coming to its conclusion this year for you. Of course, that means a whole new long-term cycle is about to start, and that’s the exciting part. Soon, this serious time of reckoning will be over and you can start looking at what you want to put out into the universe to come back to you in the next phase of your life.
