Tuesday, November 17th Jeanne Noorman will present her popular workshop A Homeschooler’s Guide to High School and College Prep for the final time. “Four years ago, when I began presenting this workshop it was titled A Homeschooler’s Guide to College Prep,” Noorman explained, “but moms kept asking how to do high school, so I added that information to the workshop. But there is really too much information to cover well in just one workshop, so in the spring I will be adding information to each section and offering them as two different workshops."

Since beginning to present this workshop, Jeanne has allowed paid attendees to repeat the workshop as many times as they wish at no additional charge.  She will continue to honor this when the workshops split by allowing previous attendees of the one workshop to attend future presentations of either or both of the new workshops, A Homeschooler's Guide to High School and A Homeschooler's Guide to College Admissions.

Jeanne Noorman writes a monthly column called Living the Homeschool Lifestyle for the Home School Building Connections newsletter and is a popular speaker in the West Michiagn homeschool community.  She and her husband Greg finished their 16th year of homeschooling in June 2009. All three of their daughters have graduated from their homeschool, earned multiple scholarships and gone on to excel in college. Their oldest daughter Macia graduated from college with honors in June of 2008 and spent the summer of 2009 participating in a program at Oxford University in England.

Information that will be covered at the workshop includes:

  • What do we need to teach in high school?
  • What about transcripts?
  • What about PSAT, ACT and SAT tests?
  • How do we navigate admissions, scholarship applications and college visits?
  • Answers to your questions!

A Homeschooler’s Guide to High School and College Prep will be held Tuesday, Nov. 17th at 7:00 pm. At Calvary Bible Church on Drake Rd. in Kalamazoo. The workshop fee of $15 per family ($10 per family if more than fifteen families register) will include all handouts. Dads and teens are encouraged to attend as well!
