Harrisburg Brewers Fest
Harrisburg Brewers Fest '09

If you didn't make it to the Harrisburg Brewers Fest '09, boy, did you miss out. Every year, Tröegs Brewing Company joins forces with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Central Pennsylvania to put on this "hop-ping" fundraiser.

More than 50 breweries from around the country filled Locust and Third Streets on Saturday, June 20. With anywhere from two to six beer types offered per brewery, that was a lot of beer to choose from. A $35 ticket allowed unlimited beer samples, in adorable mini mugs, with VIP tickets ringing in at $95 each. Even with two sessions, tickets were sold out earlier in the week. That's something to keep in mind for next year.

Live music and street fair-type food vendors rounded out the lively event. Despite a couple of short downpours during this rain-or-shine affair, the crowd seemed unaffected and almost recharged from the showers.

Keep your eyes pealed for this event next year. It's a great cause, and the perfect opportunity to test out some brews.
