Winning the end of life battle!
Winning the end of life battle!
PR Poster from Storiesalive Judith Black's website

One of the first times I saw Judith Black was at Indiana University in Bloomington Indiana at a Conference for the Advancement of Jewish Education (CAJE).  Well CAJE was near its end of life but is in the process of being brought back. But her take on the Hoosier state left us howling.  That was in the 1990s

So it is with Judith Black.http://elweiner.tripod.com/judith_black.htm
If anyone can bring use back from the end of life with humor it's Judith Black.  How spiritual is laughter? Witness Mary Poppins with Burt and her two charges floating up to the ceiling while laughing. Spirituality is a lightness of being, so perhaps laughter is the way to liberate the soul. Judith did that for this reviewer numerous times.

This feminist storyteller will be appearing at a local Framingham MA venue this Wednesday, November 4 at the Amazing Things Art Center 160 Hollis St. at 7:30 pm.
Judith will be the featured comic at their Amazing Open Comedy Mique.
Inviting all to come, listen, and participate,

The Center’s definition of “ ‘Open comedy ‘ means that comedy is more than just stand-up - or sit-down.” Here is their invitation to the standup publique:
” Musically speaking, we welcome funny songs and comical compositions and unusual musical instruments. We also look for the spoken word because we'd like to hear hilarious poetry, comedic stories, and bubbe (grandmother) monologues. And bring out the clowns. We’d like to see physical comedy and mime and new vaudeville antics and visual gags. If you are an Eccentric Performer who specializes in the art of failure, then step right up to our Open Mique.”  Admission is $6, less for members.

See their Facebook page athttp://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=103956371790&v=info&ref=mf

Be reminded that Open Comedy Mique is a “PG-13” source of entertain for families, grandchildren, grandparents, teenagers and adults of all ages. Their website guarantees a supportive environment for all developing new material. So leave your four letter words at home.

The evenings are co-hosted by:  Debbie Rittner, an Eccentric Performer who studied mime and the art of clowning at the Celebration Barn Theater, grandfather and baseball fan, Dave Hornfischer, who claims to have seen comedy in his prior life as Vice President at Berklee College of Music.

America's funniest feminist storyteller says: if we all gotta die, can
we negotiate our way out, or maybe  into a four-star tier of after life?!

A testimonial from the Montreal Gazette says that:
“Judith's programs have parents and children winking, nudging and pinching one another in self-recognition, as they watch the issues of their lives reflected through the laughter and tears of these tales. 'The adults are smiling as broadly as the children they've brought with them, maybe even more so.' “
