According to Fox News, Republican Dede Scozzafava, who dropped out of a special election race in NY's 23rd district has endorsed Democrat Bill Owens. This race has been one of the most watched this election season because Scozzafava, a Republican was being beat in the polls by third party Conservative candidate, Doug Hoffman. According to RealClearpolitics.com, Hoffman is beating Owens 41% to 36%.
In spite of all that Scozzafava did to try and win in Conservative's NY's 23rd, the moderate Repulican came up short. In spite of a campaign visit from Newt Gingrich and backing of the NRCC, Assemblywoman Scozzafava still came up short.
First of all moderate is a nice word for liberal. Second, Scozzafava is a liberal that is why she did not get the support of a Conservative District. Thirds, Scozzafava is for Scozzafava, endorsing a liberal in a district that is clearly Republican. This is reminiscent of what is going on in NJ where Corzine might give Daggett a position in his administration be it Corzine wins reelection. Another smokey backroom deal? Could be.
