That's mostly a rhetorical question, but it's a good one: Why won't Wonderbra let us Americans at its Dita Von Teese collections?
The 2010 Party Edition collection by Dita Von Teese for Wonderbra is getting crazy hype all over these here Internets this week with a sexy new video spot and the first peek at her photos modelling the new line, but it will take a savvy American shopper or some world traveling if you want Dita's look for yourself: The collection, like her previous lines for Wonderbra, is exclusively available in Europe. Even online distributor House of Fraser is only set up to ship to addresses in the U.K. and Ireland – I checked.
That strikes me as a dumb move for Wonderbra, mostly known here in America as your mother's lingerie company, aka Hanes Underwear for women, but what do I know?
Von Teese – don't let that exotic name fool you – is, after all, an American herself, born into a working class family in Michigan, then making her name here on U.S. soil as an American burlesque star before going on to such Euro-exclusivity. If I worked for Wonderbra, I'd be hawking that stuff left and right, thanking my lucky stars I had such a sex goddess allowing herself to be associated with my brand.
But no, I suppose it's true: Us stateside girls are only interested in boring black Wonderbras, and not all those sexy satine suspenders the Euro girls go for. Silly me! Please leave a comment below if you've found an online retailer who will ship this stuff to the U.S.
