Mary Stuart Masterson in Some Kind of Wonderful
Today, in honor of Hilary Swank's turn as Amelia Earhart in Amelia, my friends at Nerve.com have a great list of the 10 Sexiest Tomboys, which I mention mostly because my partner is giddy over their number one pick: Mary Stuart Masterson as the Mini Cooper-driving, drum-playing, star tat on her neck, short-haired, smack-talking heroine of Some Kind of Wonderful – aka the girl of his John Hughes-scripted dreams.
Two of my all-time favorite tomboy heroines make the cut, too: Joan Jett at number 4, and Nancy McKeon (Jo Polniaczek on The Facts of Life) at number 9. Click through for the full list and a spirited comments section debate over Nerve's picks.
