Sexy news this week for all you ursusphiles out there: Bear Magazine, the publication dedicated to big butch bears and the boys (and girls... don't forget the girls!) who love them, will now be available in the "men's sophisticate" section of the magazine racks at Borders and Bookworld, beginning, appropriately enough, with Issue #69, which will feature Zeb Atlas on the cover.
Bear Magazine was first published from 1987–2002 before closing shop; It was resurrected last year by Bear Ominmedia, picking up with issue #65.
Beginning in October, Bear magazine will be available at two national bookstore chains, Borders and Bookworld, publisher Bear Omnimedia announced Thursday. The first issue to appear on sophisticate shelves at the stores will be number 69, which features Zeb Atlas on the cover.
“When we revived and redesigned Bear last year, we knew it was a gamble, especially with the sudden downturn of the economic market,” said Editor in Chief Steven Wolfe. “But despite the economy and various naysayers, Bear’s growth has been unstoppable in an evolving industry.
“I’m also rather pleased that they’ve put us in the men’s sophisticate category, alongside the giant publication Playboy,” he added. “It’s a great acknowledgement and entrance into the mainstream.”
