Monsters of Folk play the Fox Theater in Oakland on Saturday night. Photo by Autumn De Wilde.

It looks as though the rain will be letting up in the East Bay this weekend, and all the better for the area's inhabitants, because this weekend is chock-full of music, music and more music.

In fact, there are so many excellent shows planned, that suggesting one or two would be selling all the others short. The plethora of fantastic shows might be a bummer for the slightly indecisive who enjoy a bit of everything, music-wise, but great for those of you who listen exclusively to one kind of music. From major-label artists, to local bands, giant venues to house parties and expensive ticket prices to free shows, there's something out there for everyone. So get out there and enjoy all the fine acts the East Bay has to offer!
