A wild hedgehog was hospitalized last week after she was found heavily intoxicated. The female hedgie had enjoyed a wild night in an apple orchard, gorging herself into a stupor on fermenting fruit. Metro News reports that the wobbly critter had become drunk, disoriented, and in need of assistance.
The spiny patient was rushed to the vet's office where clinic staff quickly came up with a treatment plan to get her back in shape. Later the next day, doctors reported she was fine, although probably still hurting despite painkillers for her hangover. Staff affectionately have named her Tipsy.
