When you think dessert you think cakes, cookies, brownies, and other sugary goodness, most of which contain milk, eggs, butter, or some type of product taken from an animal, but it doesn’t have to be. Sticky Fingers Bakery is an all Vegan Bakery that makes all your favorite desserts, but in a healthier way without taking away from the satisfaction department. The desserts at Sticky Fingers Bakery contain soy products and are cholesterol-free. It also contains non-hydrogenated oils and is lower in saturated fat than the ones made with products derived from animals. Sweetened with evaporated Cane Juice, the desserts are insanely delicious. In 2008 it won the award for Best Vegan Dessert on VegDc. It was also voted Best Bakery and Vegan Restaurant this year in The City Paper’s Best of DC.
Enjoy classic desserts such as chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies, carrot cake, brownies, blueberry muffins, chocolate cake, vanilla cake, almond crème cake, and cheesecake all made Vegan. Unfortunately the Cheesecake is not available right now, but if you are interested in having it, I would definitely try back. Try any of these desserts or you can be a little more adventurous and taste the new line of cupcakes for an older crowd. The new cupcakes come in Black Russian, White Russian, Fuzzy Navel, Mojito, Margarita, Chocolate Stout, and Pina Colada. Sticky Fingers Bakery also makes desserts for special occasions: Birthdays, Weddings, or whatever the occasion. But dessert isn't all that they have to offer sandwiches and more are also available at the Bakery. Take your sweet tooth to Sticky Fingers Bakery and enjoy dessert the guilt free way. And remember to eat well, eat cheap, and enjoy yourself.
