Someone once told me that the moment we're born we start dying. Although technically true, it's sure depressing to think about in that way.
As someone who's a reluctant member of AARP, my view of youth is in the rear-view mirrow. Yours may be different.
Those of us who are elders do have many things to enjoy:
1. We can flirt with young men and women without shame and without fear that they'll take us seriously.
2. We can say what's on our minds.
3. We can ask for help. Pride is gone.
4. We can play with our grandchildren and other kids too. Acting like a child goes with the territory.
5. We become grateful for small things--waking up smiling for example.
6. We can happily show our real hair color--gray.
Every one of you is older now than when you started reading this. What's your feeling on aging? Doing it gracefully? Or fighting it tooth and nail?
The conversation continues with you.
