Early today Katherine Jackson, Michael Jackson's mother, filed for custody of his three kids--Prince Michael, Paris, and Prince Michael II. They have been in her physical custody since Michael's death.

She also petitioned for their estate. The amount of the estate isn't known at this time. There's a hearing set for August 3 to discuss the matter. It's believed the children will stay with her until then in the Jackson family compound in the San Fernando Valley.

An interesting note: The whereabouts of Debbie Rowe, mother of the two oldest children, is listed as "unknown."

Just take it one gigantic, earth-shattering crisis at a time.
