Pam Kroner saw a picture in the New York Times of a little girl in Pembroke, Illinois who was living in extreme poverty. Instead of just thinking, "Isn't that too bad," Kroner immediately got her own family and friends involved.
They began by sending boxes of food and household items to needy families in the Illinois town. The organization, People-to-People, and the donations grew, and now more than 800,000 meals have been provide--not just to Pembroke, but to many struggling communities.
Kroner showed how much one person can do, when they get off their couch and get involved. The conversation continues with you.
