I'm going to write two articles about the year in review. This first, shorter one, will be about my articles. The second one will be about mental health news in review.

This column began on December 3, so no wonder this article will be short. Before the year ends there will be 29 Chicago Mental Health Examiner 2008 submissions.

As I look through them, I see that there's a mixture of serious and comedic, which is a true reflection of me, and my writing style. My personal life has followed that same path as I stopped doing disaster work earlier in the year and moved back to my hometown.

This coming year, I hope to write every day, providing a look at news headlines, personal issues, and ideas submitted by my readers--which is exactly what I've done in December.

I'd love it if you would submit suggestions for articles, but please understand that I won't be able to accommodate everyone. Just email your ideas to me at the address listed under my bio on the right.

Thanks for reading my first month of articles. Your comments are a true reflection of your views and who you are. Your support has been invaluable and has kept me looking forward to writing and publishing each day.

Look for Part 2 in a few days. Thanks so much.

Just take it one gigantic, earth-shattering crisis at a time.
