Maclaren along with the Consumer and Product Safety Commission will issue a voluntary recall Tuesday for one million strollers made between 1999 and 2009. According to their Web site the recall is being issued after the company has received multiple reports of hinges on the strollers amputating and cutting up children's fingers and fingertips.
The company's Web site states the incidents occurred when parents were opening or closing the strollers.
The company will send out hinge covers to correct the problems and are advising consumers not to use the strollers until they have hinge covers. If you have an affected stroller contact them and they will mail a repair kit.
The affected models include Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, Techno XLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveller.
