Tiger Woods, 33, was driving his SUV near his Orlando home this morning when his car hit a tree and a hydrant, authorities have said.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Woods crashed after he pulled out of his drive way in his 2009 Cadillac SUV.

His wife, Elin, used a golf club to smash out the back window to help woods get out of the vehicle. She told officers she was in the house when she heard the accident.

Woods had cuts on his upper and lower lip and blood in his mouth said Windermere police chief Daniel Saylor. "When he woke up, he tried to get up and lost consciousness, " said Saylor.

Woods was taken to Health Central Hospital/  Although it was first reported that his injuries were serious, he has since been released from the hospital.

Tiger Woods last played golf in San Diego at the Buick Invitational in Torrey Pines. Woods has has finished 1st on the PGA TOUR 6 times in 2009 and he ranks 1st in Scoring Average on the PGA TOUR.
