The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued voluntary recalls of the following children's products.
Adventure Playsets
These wooden playsets are being recalled due to the fact that the plastic coated lumber on the horizontal ladder (monkey bar/swing beam) can weaken over time. Walmart and Toys R Us are two of the retailers who sold this product. If you own one of these playsets, you should stop using it immediately and contact Adventure Playsets to receive a replacement kit.
For more information, model numbers and photos of the product visit the CPSC website.
Young Artist Easels
A voluntary recall has been issued for Young Artist Easels as the chalkboard surface coating contains high levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard. This product was sold at art supply stores nationwide from July 2004 through June 2009. If you have this easel, please take it away from your children and contact the company to receive a free replacement chalkboard panel.
Visit the CPSC for more information, model numbers and pictures of the product.
Maclaren Strollers
Maclaren single and double umbrella strollers are being recalled. The stroller's hinge mechanism poses a fingertip amputation and laceration hazard to the child when it is being unfolded/opened. These strollers were sold at Babies"R" Us, Target and other retailers from 1999 through November 2009. If you own this stroller, you should immediately stop using it and contact Maclaren USA to receive a free repair kit.
For more information, model numbers and photos of the product visit the CPSC.
