The Federal Trade Commission says identity theft is still the number one consumer complaint it received in 2008. No surprise there, as it's been the agency's number one complaint for the past nine years!

How often does it happen in your community? Check out the FTC's new report which breaks out data about metropolitan areas reporting the highest per capita rates of fraud. The data also profiles other complaints the FTC gets, like credit card fraud, employment fraud, phone or utilities fraud, bank fraud and loan fraud.

Experts warn with the economy taking a nose dive, scam artists are only going to get more aggressive, so watch out !

If you become the victim of identity theft, be sure to report it ASAP to the FTC.
