If you're a grandparent searching for a fun Halloween activity for the children, then look to the Richmond SPCA. The local SPCA is sponsoring a "Tricks for Treats" Kids halloween party on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. This is the perfect opportunity to teach children about the importance of caring for animals while they are having a spectacular time with animals just waiting to be loved!
There will be dog tricks to entertain and educate children while they explore their surroundings. But that's not all. Activities include:
The best part of all is that the event is free, although a suggested donation of a can or bag of food is welcome. Or, perhaps a toy for a cat or dog is just what your grandchild would enjoy bringing to the animals at the shelter. And this event is safe for everyone (unless they have pet allergies!).
If you're interested in bringing your grandchildren to this event, contact Phyllis Harris at 804.521.1327 or pharris@richmondspca.org. Although reservations are not required, it will be helpful to register in advance to allow the SPCA to anticipate your attendance.
The Richmond SPCA is filled with opportunities to entertain, educate, and excite children. They offer a story time with animals through Paws to R.E.A.D., activities with Crafty Critters, and birthday parties complete with games, decorations, invitations and party favors. Don't miss out on the opportunity to take advantage of the fun activities.
