
Big weeks ahead for the local high school thespians. High school directors may find little consolation in the extra hour of sleep granted, considering all the other hours of sleep that will be taken away. And for you newbies getting ready to take part in your first show, here's a little tip that may help - they're called actor's nightmares. Get used to them. Embrace them. You're gonna be ok.

Menlo-Atherton High School International Thespians present:
"The Rimers of Eldritch"
Set in a dying Midwestern town in the late 1960’s, "Rimers" explores the many faces of small-town America, providing rich characters for the audience to ponder. Told in a series of flashbacks, the play focuses on tightly held social and religious values and biases among the characters, with its denoument revealing a single, startling event that highlights the town's hypocrisy. PG-13 for mature content.
The show takes place on Nov. 13, 14 and 19, 20, 21
All shows take place at 7:30 pm, while Saturdays offer at matinee at 2:00 pm
Written by Langford Wilson, the show is directed by supervising instructor Mandy Peoples and assistant directed by student Michael Farzi.
Production will be held in the recently opened M-A Performing Arts Center

Agatha Christie's classic whodunit, "And Then There Were None"
As ten people become trapped on Indian Island, can they find who the killer is among them before it's too late?

Cupertino Actors Theatre presents:
"For the Love of Three Oranges"
Directed by Arcadia Conrad
Based on a commedia del arte scenario by Carlo Gozzi, "For the Love of Three Oranges" is a crazy comedy adapted for a modern audience. Prince Tartaglia's life is filled with misery until an evil witch and her henchmen try to kill him by sending him on a quest for three giant oranges. Once he leaves the castle, however, he finds friendship, love and laughter.
All shows take place at Cupertino High School, 10100 Finch Avenue, Cupertino, CA 94085

The William C. Overfelt Royal Theatre Company presents:
"Murder at the Prom"
Written by Peter DePietro.
The interactive, audience participation murder mystery makes its way to Overfelt, as Ms. Cranston, Overfelt's principal, is mysteriously murdered at the prom. Wild and crazy situations and characters rule prom night, with the play taking place all over the theatre. Come by and help the characters figure out "whodunit."


You get one final weekend to see San Jose Rep's West Coast premiere of Ian Bruce's "Groundswell." The show closes this Sunday, and has received raves all around. Speaking of closings, Theatreworks "The Chosen," the story of two Jewish friends and their years spent growing up in the post-war turbulence of 1940's Brooklyn, closes this Sunday as well after an extension. Don't miss San Jose's quadruple wedding event of the fall taking place Friday through Sunday nights as well as a few afternoons at Theatre on San Pedro Square. Those succulent singin' siblings, the Taffetas, put their lyrical spell on the Cardigans in "A Taffeta Wedding," entering the penultimate weekend of the show. Sunnvale Community Players continue their take on the longest running musical in history, "The Fantasticks." One more big opening, taking place in Saratoga - the Sharks and the Jets square off in the ultimate dance battle with the Bernstein, Sondheim and Laurents classic musical "West Side Story, opening Saturday night and running until early December.
