Treat yourself and your guests
to a healthful organic holiday (source)

Organic: It's good for your body, your family, and the environment.  Many are unsure of the benefits of eating organically, and usually are deterred by the premium price for what looks like the same food.

Organic food is produced according to legally regulated standards. For crops, it means they were grown without the use of conventional pesticides, artificial fertilizers or sewage sludge (not the kind of stuff  you want to ingest), and that they were processed without ionizing radiation or food additives. For animals, it means they were reared without the routine use of antibiotics and without the use of growth hormones (also not the best stuff for you).

Organically grown foods help protect air, water and soil quality.  It's also really easy to change your typical Thanksgiving meal into an organic one.  Just shop your local grocer or Whole Foods for organic ingredients.  Most are very clearly labeled.

The premium price for organic foods may be worthwhile.  There probably is some cost associated with flooding your body with pesticides, chemicals, and hormones.   What better way to give thanks for a healthy body?
