In only three days, the New York bridal fashion week will kick off at the Waldorf Astoria located on Park avenue. Bridal fashion week is now embedded into the Couture fashion week, and this only makes perfect sense since bridal designs are usually high fashion couture pieces anyway. The couture fashion week runs from Friday September 11th till Sunday September 13th and is sure to be a banquet of deliciously extravagant garments that brides can draw inspiration from. The designs that are scheduled to be shown during the course of the fashion week are by designers from all over the world, thus ensuring a wide variety of styles, so there will definitely be something in there for everyone.

The opening day of couture fashion week features creations from the following designers;
Sushma Patel, a well acclaimed high fashion designer of Indian origin, released her first collection eleven years ago. Her designs are described as being Indo-western; a unique blend of Indian and western style. The end result is a collection full of bold colors, opulent fabrics and unique silhouettes. We will be sure to see gorgeous detailing in her collection with hand embroidered fabrics and gowns tastefully adorned with crystal embellishments.

Pyndela is a design label by Pylynn Wongleecharoen an up and coming designer from Thailand. She will also be showing her collection on the first day of the couture fashion week. Although fairly new on the scene, her work so far is a sign of great things to come. Her debut on the New York fashion scene was when she showed her ready to wear spring 2009 collection which was modern and bursting with a fresh approach to dress designs.

“Architect of Chilean fashion” Ruben Campos, creates designs that go beyond being merely clothing, his work is instead viewed as detailed works of art. They aren’t just sewn together but are sculpted like an architectural design to be as flattering as possible. Even though Campos is from Chile, he studied fashion in Madrid and thus his work reflects his international design knowledge.

The Avant garde collection ‘Hot Rainbow’ by Catalin Botezatu will be the final show of the day. Catalin is an award-winning Romanian designer who has shown at the Couture fashion week twice before. He is a perfectionist who only presents the very best, he directs and styles his own shows and designs every single accessory that features in the show. He is the definition of high fashion and his gowns are a reflection of this. His designs have been shown in several continents and have an international appeal.

With a line up of such talented designers, the first day of couture fashion week promises to be a feast for our eyes!
