Twenty two year old James Laurinaitis is getting a lot of press these days. His dad, Joe "Animal" was a wrestler but James was meant to play football. He won last year’s Bronko Nagurski award, given to the nation’s best defensive player, He was a sophomore playing for the Ohio State Buckeyes In 2007,
I was most interested in what this 6' 3" tall weighing in at 244 pounds mammoth of a man eats.
Lots of chicken breasts either grilled or baked
Breakfast consists of cereal such as Wheaties or Special K or oatmeal
A carton of egg beaters
Canned or frozen veggies
Fruit, bananas, grapes and his favorite fruit- strawberries
Cottage cheese and yogurt. He mixes a scoop of Dannon vanilla with a cup of cottage cheese and some chopped fruit post workouts.
Lean Cuisine Skillet Sensations
Cinnamon raisin toast
He has one or two cheat meals a week oftentimes eating pizza.
If he were to ask me I would tell him that I know he is short of time but to stick with frozen veggies. They are much healthier than canned. In fact some say they are even healthier than fresh veggies because they are fresh frozen. I would tell him that I hoped his blood pressure was good because there is a lot of sodium in the frozen meals. I would tell him that he doesn't have to be hard on himself because he loves cinnamon raisin toast.
He shops every two weeks spending about $100, which seems reasonable to me given his size. His spirituality and faith are truly impressive.
