I got an e-mail today from a friend who had read about the Banana Diet in First Magazine for Women. The diet started in Japan.

Essentially you eat a banana or two, three or four for breakfast with room temperature water. Water is the only beverage allowed on this diet.

Eat a normal lunch.

You can have an afternoon snack around 3:00p.m.

Dinner must be eaten by 8 p.m. at the latest (6 p.m. is better).

A four-hour period between your last meal or snack and bedtime is the best way to work this diet (which is why 8:00 p.m. is the latest you should eat dinner).

Keep a diet journal.

Exercise is optional; however, walking is encouraged.

A  report on research that found  that  “weight loss during programs focused on dietary change produced two to three times greater weight loss than programs focused on exercise.”

Hmmm.... I think I'll give this one a try and report back!
