Lack of meat according to The Bible. Photo wikipedia

According to Zee News a religious expert claims that the information contained in The Bible regarding ancient diet as talked about in The  Bible are not healthy.

Apparantley (I'm not a Bible scholar) the food talked about in The Bible should not get the credit it has gotten.

A study done by Dr. Nathan MacDonald reports that ancient Israel was more likely to offer its people a bland choice of flat breads and grains.

Dr. MacDonald, a St Andrews University lecturer in the UK,  looked at biblical texts and human remains. He has come up with the conclusion that  those living in the in this area did not have a balanced diet.

Lacking were meat and vegetables. The diet had enough calories but not enough vitamins and minerals.

We all understand that the findings may not be received well by those who follow the word of the Bible literally but so be it. That is what the research shows so I'm reporting it.

Dr MacDonald's book, What Did The Ancient Israelites Eat? Diet In Biblical Times , contains his findings and was published in the United Kingdom recently..

This book can be seen at amazon.
