Tracey Yukich is disliked by everyone. She is married with four children,
Another episode of The Biggest Loser and we are still keeping a special eye on New Englander Rudy Paul. He has lost an amazing 65 pounds.
All my Biggest Loser articles can be found here.
This week the challenge involved a wheel in the Wheel of Fortune style. The contestants didn’t have to play but they could win $1,000, lose points, or have control of the game. Dina and Rudy were the first two to say they wanted to play. Rudy went first because he has lost the largest percentage of weight. Unfortunately he got a 1,000 calorie piece of cake. Tracey once again won the golden ticket giving her power for the second week of in a row.
Tracey changed the contestants' teams making two teams - black and blue. This helped Tracey but no one else. If one thinks about losing weight and getting fit this tactic makes no sense because the teams have bonded. But in the end it is a television show that needs great ratings. Dina was very upset at the thought of losing Rudy. Rudy tried to comfort Dina telling her that she will be able to depend on herself. In the end the contestants showed that they could do well no matter what team they are on.
Tracey got to decide with whom she wants to train. She picked Bob who is a bit gentler than Jillian and probably the reason she picked him. Everyone on her blue team worked with Bob. Everyone on the black worked with Jillian.
The new blue team is Tracey, Alan, Coach Mo, Liz, Rudy, and Rebbecca.
The black team is Shay, Daniel, Abbey, Danny (right after Liz cried that she didn't want to lose him), Amanda (in spite of her bond with Bob she will now be training with Jillian), and Dina.
The contestants hit the gym doing lunges, using medicine balls, doing push ups, cardio work, chest work with dumbbells, and abdominal work. Liz passed out! In spite of this show having doctor's it would seem like the viewers may be questioning working hard and working to an extreme. She was alright though and it seemed that every moment that went by the daggers against Tracey got longer and longer.
"Depend on yourself; make yourself do it" was Rudy's mantra to Dina who was terrified of jumping on a step. This is not easy. The step/stool is small and Dina is large. It would be scary for many people even those not as large as Dina. It requires balance and the ability to jump..
Jillian taught viewers how to do dead lifts. She is the pro but please do not do this move if you have a bad back.
The Challenge
The competition - blue against black - is obviously mismatched with Tracey's team being what might objectively look like "the best." The Biggest Losers as a team had to carry a platform with another player on it. The winner got videos from home. The challenge involved walking through a mud pit and the blue team won. Rebbecca gave Dina her video and told her to get on the platform but Dina didn't take it because she had to get on the step on her own. Good for her. What a great moment to realize that fitness and weight loss is about oneself.
We watched Rudy watching his family talking to him - certainly an inspiration to stay and get healthy.
The last chance workout had the "underdog" black team. Bob took his team to 24-Hour Fitness so they could take a group fitness class while Jillian was working the black team to the limit. Dina needed to get on the platform. It is not her weight that is stopping her but her fear and as Jillian said "She will conquer it." Bob showed viewers a couple of wonderful ways to work up to push ups and suggested that viewers do them at home as in now! Hopefully you got off the couch and did a few.
Spoiler alert!!
The Weigh In
The blue team went first. Tracey lost 7 pounds; Coach Mo lost 6 pounds, Alan lost 7 pounds, Rudy lost 8 pounds adding up to 73 pounds in 5 weeks. Rebbecca lost 7 pounds and Liz lost 8 pounds bringing the blue team's numbers to a total loss of 43 pounds and a total weight loss of 2.56%.
For the black team Abby lost 5 pounds, Dina lost 6 pounds, Amanda lost 6 pounds, Danny lost 10 pounds and is off all his medication. Daniel lost 11 pounds and Shay lost 16 pounds!! This gave the black team immunity with a total weight loss of 54 pounds and 3.05%.
Someone from the blue team went home. The blue team chose one of their own team members. The one who went home which was a shock was not Tracey but Coach Mo. The team thought that Tracey was a more valuable player.
