CNN published an article about how Hollywood stars not just stay in shape but do amazing things such as having no tummy right after they had a baby or hit 45 and still seem to have a metabolism that keeps on going and going.
I read that some say they eat right and exercise a lot and others have some strange and unhealthy ways to stay and/or get thin. Does Cameron Diaz eat veggies that are mostly water like celery or does she eat healthy broccoli even though it may be a bit boating?
This is something I've been working hard at doing. It is quite easy to run out the house but personal trainer, Gunnar Peterson, who works with Jennifer Lopez and Penelope Cruz among others says that if we don't eat breakfast our bodies thing we are starving. If you eat then your body will start working, get your metabolism going and start burning fat. Personally I love oatmeal with nuts and fruit in it.
Research shows breakfast eaters are more successful at long-term weight loss than those who skip this meal. "It jump-starts your metabolism and prevents you from getting so ravenous you overeat later in the day," says Bonnie Taub-Dix, R.D., a New York City-based spokeswoman for the American Dietetic Association.
If it's white stay away
Stars stay away from high carbohydrate foods that are often white - sugar, white rice, white bread. These foods turn to sugar quickly and our bodies burn the sugar off rather than the fat. It's fine to eat carbs though - look for in season fruits and veggies. .
What veggies are you eating?
I mentioned above that broccoli is gas i.e. bloating producing so the starts stay away from those foods. If you have a big event and want your tummy to go down a bit choose watermelon, grapes, celery - foods that have a high water content.
Produce like broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, brussels sprouts, onions, beans, apples, pears, and prunes do lead to gas and bloating, says Jennifer Crum, M.S., R.D., a nutritionist at New York University Langone Medical Center. Crum also suggests cutting out diet drinks before a big event, since carbonation and artificial sweeteners can lead to bloat. Dandelion tea, a diuretic, is a safe drink option, Taub-Dix says. Don't like the bitter taste? Try peppermint or chamomile, which have a similar effect. Health.com
Can you say spicy?
I can't but David Kirsch trainer to the super models like Liv Tyler try to get her and others to go for hot pepper sauce. Well you get the picture. It seems it reduces hunger pangs so we eat less. Maybe some of us just drink a gallon of water because we feel like we are on fire?
Snacking is ok!
We should be eating every few hours so pack a snack. There are some healthier 100 packet products on the market that we have in the car during road trips.
"Your best bet is a snack that contains a little bit of carbohydrate, to give you an energy boost, with some protein to make you feel satiated. And if you've got to have a sweet, trainer Rob Parr, whose clients have included Madonna and Naomi Watts, recommends this trick: Mix four ounces of fruit juice with four ounces of water, and blend it with a handful of berries or a banana. It's a 200-calorie smoothie." Health.com
