
The Denver area is a great place to be for Halloween. Here are a few things to do in Denver with your little ones and kids with special needs. See websites for prices.
Farms and Pumpkin Patches:
Fall Festival at Anderson Farms.
One of the BEST Farms for kids!
Open 10:00 am daily until November 1.
For Special Needs:
* Most of the dirt is packed down well enough for strollers and wheel chairs.
* The Bunny Town and Goat-ville (probably not their official names) are easily accessible for all.
* Wagon rides provide transportation to the pumpkin fields, but the fields themselves could be hard to navigate.
* There is a smaller Hay Maze (in addition to the huge corn maze) for parents who want to keep a closer eye on the kids.
Cottonwood Farms
Open 10:00 am to 6:00pm daily until October 31st
For Special Needs:
* There are a lot of animals to see.
* Pumpkins are easily accessible.
* The farm features a 1906 Case steam tractor.
Country Harvest at Berry Patch Farms
Saturdays in October, 10:00 am to 4:00pm
For Special Needs:
* This farm offers a variety of activities, such as hay rides, crafts, and a straw maze, but it also offers story telling!
* Each Saturday, special musical "venues" are offered:

For Special Needs:* Delaney Farm is a community garden started by Denver Urban Gardens, an environmental and educational concept for kids.

Museums and Historical Sites:
Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield Pumpkin Festival
October 17th and 18th, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
For Special Needs:
* The Gardens offer a fairly accessible pumpkin patch.
* This year, kids can enjoy a "play area that features a whimsical tree house and water feature."
Arvada Festival of Scarecrows
October 10th, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Olde Town Arvada
For Special Needs:
* Kids can participate in this event by voting for their favorite scarecrow.
*There will be a lot of scarecrows around, so this might not be the place for kids who are easily spooked.
Littleton Historical Museum Harvest Fest and Pumpkin Sale
October 10th, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
For Special Needs:
* This event takes place on an 1860's farm and offers "historic site interpreters" for information about the museum.
* The museum will be offering wagon rides and cider.
Trick or Treating
For Special Needs:
* Any of the following venues can be an overwhelming place for kids with autism or sensory issues, and that's without adding hundreds of kids in costume. Stay tuned in to your child's needs while exploring these events.
Boo at the Zoo

"This year’s theme encourages children to be a hero for the planet and dress up as their favorite superhero while they learn about several ways they can help the environment. Trick-or-treaters visiting more than 30 trick-or-treat stations can enjoy close encounters with the creepy kind, viewing vampire bats, reptiles, spiders and Denver Zoo’s other creatures."

Trick or Treat Street at the Children's Museum
October 29th and 30th, 9:00 am – 8:00 pm

"Get your little goblins, superheroes and fairies ready for a Halloween extravaganza! Travel through the pumpkin patch and down through Cider Lane onto a trick-or-treating adventure full of yummy treats and fun surprises. Try your luck at the monster carnival, hear stories about critters and creatures, make art projects to take home, meet roaming costumed characters, and see all kinds of great theater performances all day, every day!"

Trick or Treat OFF the Street at the Wildlife Experience
October 31st, 9:00 am – 7:00 pm
"Trick or Treat OFF the Street features a variety of activities for children of all ages, including spooky stories and creep crawly crafts! Candy booths will line the museum's hallways, allowing guests to fill up their bags with candy and spooky toys. Globeology and the museum's unique galleries will also be open for visitors to stroll through as they wind their way through Trick or Treat OFF the Street."
Garden of Goodies at Hudson Gardens
October 30th and 31st
"A spooktacular event for boils and ghouls of all ages! Participate in our free trick-or-treat street around the lighted and decorated Oval Garden."
Denver Aquarium's Halloween Kids Fest
October 30th -November 1st, 10:00 am– 4:00 pm
"Join the Aquarium’s mascot Sharkey and his friends for a fun-filled Halloween-themed day with an aquatic twist. There will be a hay maze, pony rides, Trick or Treat Reef (which lasts until 9 p.m.), giant pumpkins and much more. Also come to the Aquarium on Halloween Day for a costume contest!"
Trick or Treat Train at the Colorado Railroad Museum
October 24th and 25th
"Ride the rails back in time through Railroad Halloween Town. Kids can find all kinds of trick or treat activities in the museum’s Railroad Halloween Town: Catch a ride behind our historic locomotive in vintage passenger cars hosted by conductors and engineers in full costume. Visit all the Town’s special stops to fill your treat bag. Visit the “not so spooky” haunted house or the Olde Railroaders silly graveyard. Get a great shot of the kids’ costumes in the Pumpkin Patch. Or warm your hands around the Hobo Campfire and sit a spell for kid-friendly storytelling. It’s full steam ahead for tricks, treats and trains."
Bug A Boo at the Butterfly Pavilion
October 24th and 25th, 10:00am-5:00pm
"Enjoy your favorite childhood stories as they come to life at the Butterfly Pavilion's annual Bug A Boo Halloween event. Climb up Jack's beanstalk, or help Charlotte weave her web. Collect candy from Little Rosie Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Miss Muffet, Hansel and Gretel and others at this safe and educational event! Race through the Hungry Caterpillar or try your luck at Ring Around the Rosie. Break out the costumes and join all the fun from 10 am to 5 pm Saturday, Oct. 24 and Sunday. Oct. 25. Event included with admission, with some activities requiring tickets."
