There are so many exciting things to do with your children in the Dallas/Fort Worth area that it is almost hard to choose! From the Zoo to the Museum of Science and History, fun is waiting to be had. And if you care to do a little leg work, you can find some fairly steep discounts too.

In Texas, weather is always a factor. So you want to plan your day keeping that in mind. Barring triple digit heat, the Fort Worth Zoo can be a wonderful and exciting place to take your kids. The animals always seem to be doing something different and exhibits are always changing. Wednesdays are half price and kids 2 and under are free.

If the heat is on, head over to NRH20 just between Fort Worth and Dallas in North Richland Hills. There are plenty of wet and watery attractions for kids of all ages. Visit www.nrh20.com/discounts for 5 different ways to save on the price of admission.

For a little fun and brain stimulation check out the Children's Museum at the Museum of Science and History. This place has so many fun, hands-on things to do that your only worry would be dragging your child out of there when it's time to go. The last Friday of each month is free after 3pm. Visit Fort Worth Museum.

Dinner and a show can be had by visiting Medieval Times in Dallas. This place lets your child eat with his hands, scream as loud as he can, and watch live jousting. The knights toss flowers to the girls and raise their swords to the young men.

The Dallas Aquarium is a great place to explore the wonders of the underwater world. A building that seems like a hole in the wall actually holds Belugas, otters, sharks, penguins, crocodiles, and many more! They have shows and feedings and tons of great settings for awesome photo opps. www.dwazoo.com
