Sure, we're only on the cusp of September.
But that means fewer than three months remain to complete your holiday shopping.
With the news that Best Buy is dropping the price on several HDTVs, and laptop and other computer prices continuing to fall, it could be a great season for electronics manufacturers.
Then again, will lower prices translate into more sales, and will more sales at lower prices still translate into profits?
Reports say retailers already are concerned about what could happen this holiday shopping season, because consumers may not be convinced the economy is turning around.
Online coupons could be part of some retailers' strategy.

Some states already offered tax-free shopping to help parents save money on back-to-school items. Don't expect to see that for the holidays - budget shortfalls have made it tough for many areas to even offer the "back-to-school" incentive.
But some retailers have their own ideas about helping shoppers over the next few months. Sears and Kmart are bringing back the Christmas Club savings accounts - I'm old enough to recall when banks actually offered these accounts.
Apparently, some banks still do.
