Verizon Wireless has announced its Slacker Radio application will appear on the BlackBerry Storm home screen, and customers can listen free to the radio service with a single click.

Users also can buy and download tracks as they listen.

Slacker Radio also connects to the V CAST Music service; that service and its Rhapsody catalog has more than 4.5 million titles.

So in an ode to Michael Jackson, you could listen to Thriller and buy the download as you listen.

Verizon Wireless is making it even easier for customers who want to experience music on their smartphones to find Slacker Radio, then connecting them directly to V CAST Music so they can take that music with them wherever they go." - Ed Ruth, director of partner management for Verizon

And in case you don't want the Slacker Radio icon on your screen (lest you run the risk of being called a slacker), Verizon says you can move it to a folder or hide it.

The pertinent info, straight from Verizon: Slacker Radio is included with email and Web for BlackBerry plans, which begin at $29.99 when added to any Nationwide voice plan.

For more info: Visit a Verizon Wireless Communications Store, call 1-800-2JOININ, or go to the company's Web site.
