The Eyeball Webcam not only has a cool
look, it's a great piece of functional computer equipment.

Blue Microphones is one of those companies that makes you do a doubletake, and then makes you realize how much you really want its products.

Blue's products have a classic, retro look. But they're anything but old-fashioned.

The Eyeball webcam has HD-quality audio and video, and a host of uses, all of which I've been able to try.

Instant messaging? Check. Social networking? Of course.

Making video conferencing easier? Yep.

I saw the Eyeball for the first time at the Consumer Electronics Show in January. It tested great then, and using it at my home and office (and in my home office) has solidified my opinion.

Check out this list of features: great sound, super HD video, retractable lens ... even driverless installation on both Windows and Mac.

It's available for around $99 at several retailers, including Amazon.com and Target.
