Which may be at least one reason the Consumer Electronics Association expects spending on consumer electronics to increase this holiday season.
The CEA released the 16th Annual CE Holiday Purchase Patterns Study during its recent Industry Forum in Phoenix. The study said about 80 percent of adults plan to buy a consumer electronic product this season - the highest number in the survey's history.

Probably not surprisingly, computers and video games rank just behind clothes as the top items for purchase this holiday season. And some new items - eReaders, netbooks and Blu-ray players - are on the list as well.
