Halloween is not all about trick-or-treating! If your children love to be spooked, or downright frightened, today's article is for you. There are many Madison-area farms and businesses that would LOVE to make your heart race faster. Here are some of the best:

Schuster's Playtime Farm in Deerfield offers a Haunted Forest for children aged 11 and older. Admission is $12.00/person, and it will be open on these weekends: 10/9 - 10/10, 10/16 - 10/17, 10/23 - 10/24, 10/29, 10/30, and 10/31. Enter the Haunted Forest only if you dare!

Hinchley's Dairy Farm of Cambridge offers Haunted Hayrides through the Field of Screams every Friday and Saturday in October, from 8 - 10 pm. The ride can be scary for young children. Pricing: $8.00.

Hinchley's also offers the PG-13 Haunted Barn experience for the braver of heart. They promise "darkness, loud noises and lots of things to scare you." Hinchley's has a great motto, "We put the 'P' in pants." Pricing: $10.00.

Mayr Family Farm in DeForest offers a haunted maze activity every Friday and Saturday night from 7-10 pm in October. The maze is haunted by live "spooks!" Before or after your trip through the maze, enjoy the bonfire and listen to other "victim's" screams!

Eugster's Farm Market of Stoughton offers a plethora of fall activities on the farm. To celebrate Halloween, an old machine shed has been transformed into a PG, medium-scare haunted house. For the preschoolers, there is the Screamy Scary Silo to explore.

The Haunted Barn is located in Stoughton, as well. They are open every Friday and Saturday night in October. Hours and Times. The Haunted Barn and Trails for the big kids costs $8.00. For the youngsters, there will be a Kids Haunted Barn on 10/17 and 10/24 from 1-4 pm.  Cost is $5.00. This a tour of the barn with the lights on and no scary monsters.

The Dane County Humane Society offers a Haunted Woods Trail on the dates of 10/16 - 10/17 and 10/23 - 10/24. Details.

Mount Olympus Park in Wisconsin Dells offers "Bitten at the Theme Park - Wisconsin's Largest Haunted House." Pricing: $20.00 or free to Hotel Rome guests. Hours and Times. The adventure also includes a haunted hay bale maze, the largest mummified horse in the world, and entry to some theme park rides.

Have a great time getting spooked!
